From Mahahual, you can also enter the Xcalak Reef National Park, with its caves and caverns.
Banco Chinchorro is a place enveloped in mystery and intrigue, where diving becomes an encounter with history as you explore the many European shipwrecks from the era of the Spanish Conquest. Some 20 or so miles from Mahahual, this natural swimming pool teeming with diversity is a stunning jewel, well worth a dive.
